What characterizes Pierre is his ability to transform complex situations into structured, value-creating action plans. Endless PowerPoints illuminating boardrooms and theoretical recommendations don’t make money. Pierre and his team build concrete, applicable, and pragmatic solutions. They get involved with your teams and stay present until it works.
A SKEMA Business School graduate, Pierre spent his childhood abroad and built his expertise over 20 years in Africa in financial and general management roles, in sectors where rigor and foresight are non-negotiable: oil, telecommunications, engineering, industrial services.
At an industrial services giant, Pierre proved his capabilities by managing the financial operations of several hundred simultaneous EPC projects, involving over 500 people. As General Manager of an SME in this sector, Pierre grew revenue by +45% in less than a year and obtained certifications that opened doors to the Anglo-Saxon market.
As Administrative and Financial Director for a Swiss oil company’s largest operation, Pierre managed for many years all accounting, financial, tax, treasury, management control, sales administration, purchasing, customs, inventory, HR, legal, and reporting aspects, with extremely high standards. He negotiated €30-40 million in financing lines annually and implemented optimization plans generating over €1 million in annual savings. He managed all financial and operational aspects of several major investments.
In telecommunications as Deputy General Manager, Pierre led a major transformation: reorganization, revenue tripled, significant EBITDA improvement, multi-million euro fundraising from BPI France for deploying Benin’s first fiber optic network, enabling very high-speed internet access.
In parallel, he participated in founding a telecom services company that grew from 0 to 75 employees in 9 months and subsequently extended operations to Guinea and Nigeria. He found the right partners, brought in contracts, recruited initial teams, and established the complete procedures manual. He regularly advises the Group President.
Pierre supported Benin’s first internet service provider through a complete transaction preparation process to improve company valuation, built the data room, developed the business plan, structured investor responses, and participated in all negotiations.
An execution-focused approach
Pierre understands something simple: executives don’t need their problems explained to them. They already know them. What they want is someone capable of solving them, not just documenting them—someone who speaks their language and doesn’t let go.
When a company prepares for sale, he doesn’t just advise on methodology—he does it with them. When an SME needs financing, he negotiates with banks and structures deals.
His process: listen to real challenges, diagnose priorities, anticipate, act with clear steps and defined responsibilities, then stay present until results are achieved.
This ability to combine strategic vision with operational excellence comes from his experience: 20 years solving concrete problems in demanding environments, where resources are limited and improvisation isn’t an option. He knows banks change their minds, investors multiply questions, teams resist change. He’s lived through these situations and knows how to resolve them.
UPMYCO: a firm designed for executives
In creating UPMYCO, Pierre wanted to build the firm he would have appreciated having by his side. A firm that understands field constraints, stays with you through implementation, and measures its success by client results.
Today, UPMYCO supports SMEs, mid-market companies, and investment funds on their most structural decisions. With one particularity: availability and involvement that go beyond traditional consulting.

What characterizes Virginie is her ability to quickly transform disorder into order. Where others see administrative complexity, she identifies priorities, structures processes, and implements pragmatic solutions that work immediately. Her 30 years of experience, including 15 internationally in demanding environments, taught her to be effective under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and rigor.
Virginie is fluent in English and Italian. She brings UPMYCO valuable international perspective to support the firm’s clients in their development in French-speaking Africa and beyond. Her field experience in Nigeria, Congo, and Benin gives her nuanced understanding of African operational realities, a natural complement to Pierre’s strategic and financial expertise.
At UPMYCO, Virginie embodies the ability to make things simple and smooth for clients. She doesn’t just advise: she takes charge, executes, monitors, and adjusts. Her approach is based on constant operational presence, clear and direct communication, and a determination to genuinely relieve executives of time-consuming tasks that distract from what matters.
A graduate in international business and foreign languages (English, Italian) from the University of Aix-en-Provence, Virginie built her career on rare dual competency: operational excellence in international trade and deep mastery of administrative and financial management, acquired notably through certification as an Administrative and Financial Manager.
After initial experiences in banking and international trading in Marseille, Virginie chose in 2004 to move to Nigeria, then Congo, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in management control and financial management. She then joined Benin in 2013 as Administrative and Financial Director of an automotive sales and repair specialist, where she implemented complete financial management systems, led ERP implementation, structured administrative processes, and supervised the entire administrative and financial team.
In parallel, Virginie developed a rental property investment activity starting in 2016, managing the complete project lifecycle: property prospecting, financing negotiations, renovation monitoring, rental management, and financial oversight. This entrepreneurial experience sharpened her ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex cases and make quick decisions in constrained contexts.
Between 2017 and 2020, on behalf of various clients, she successively held positions as Administrative and Financial Director of holding companies in Hong Kong and then Mauritius, structures linked to trading or telecommunications activities. In these roles, she took over complex accounting operations, obtained account certifications, structured administrative procedures, and managed relationships with auditors, shareholders, and banks.
Returning to France in 2020, Virginie co-founded UPMYCO with her husband Pierre. She created and directs the Online Business Management department, dedicated to operational support for SMEs. Her approach consists of taking charge of daily administrative, commercial management, and financial functions to enable executives to focus on their core business.
The Online Business Management department is capable of: organizational audit and diagnostic, process implementation, invoicing and collection management, treasury oversight, team coordination, and project tracking.

Questions & answers
What is UPMYCO's team approach?
UPMYCO's team works in a collaborative, personalized way, built on three pillars: multidisciplinary expertise (strategy, finance, operations, transformation), hands-on commitment with direct partner involvement, and skills transfer to the client's teams.
Every UPMYCO engagement mobilizes a tailored team, combining complementary expertise to address your challenges precisely. The approach rests on three pillars. Multidisciplinary expertise gives a 360-degree view of your challenges and opportunities, blending strategy, finance, operations and transformation. Hands-on commitment means close relationships, active listening, availability and the direct involvement of partners in every engagement. Skills transfer goes beyond recommendations: UPMYCO supports your teams through implementation and develops their capabilities to sustain the improvements. This approach is grounded in shared values (excellence, pragmatism, integrity, engagement, adaptability) and delivers support that is rigorous, human and focused on lasting results.
Work with a team that is truly by your side: bring your project to UPMYCO.
What is "skills transfer" at UPMYCO?
Skills transfer means UPMYCO does not stop at recommendations: it supports your teams through implementation and develops their capabilities, so the improvements last well beyond the engagement.
Many firms deliver a report and leave. UPMYCO does the opposite: it treats every engagement as an opportunity to strengthen your teams. Beyond the analysis and recommendations, the firm works alongside your people to put solutions into practice, sharing methods, tools and ways of working as it goes. The goal is autonomy: when the engagement ends, your teams understand the new processes, can run them and keep improving on their own. This is why skills transfer is one of the three pillars of UPMYCO's collaborative approach, alongside multidisciplinary expertise and hands-on commitment. It ensures the value created is not a one-off but a durable capability embedded in the organization, which matters especially for SMEs and mid-market companies building their internal structure.
Build lasting capability, not just a report: talk to UPMYCO.
In which sectors does UPMYCO's team have experience?
UPMYCO's team has hands-on experience across many sectors, including oil & gas, telecommunications, industrial services, metallurgy, trading, shipping, automotive, water, import-export, wholesale and retail, insurance, rental and real estate.
UPMYCO's methodology applies across most sectors, and its team brings deep, field-tested experience in several. The founders have operated in demanding industries where rigor and foresight are non-negotiable: oil & gas, telecommunications, industrial services, metallurgy, trading, shipping, automotive and water. The team also covers import-export, wholesale and retail, insurance, rental and real estate. This breadth means UPMYCO quickly grasps the economics and operational realities of a business, rather than applying a generic template. Combined with more than 20 years of international experience, including extensive work in French-speaking Africa, this sector knowledge lets the firm tailor its analysis and recommendations to the specific dynamics of your industry, whether you are an executive or an investor assessing a target.

What international experience does UPMYCO's team have?
UPMYCO's founders bring more than 20 years of international experience, particularly across French-speaking Africa (Nigeria, Congo, Benin and many others) as well as Europe and Asia, in financial and general management roles.
International experience is central to UPMYCO's DNA. Pierre Biton built his career over 20 years in Africa (Central African Republic, Niger, Guinea, Nigeria, Congo, Benin and many other countries) in financial and general management roles, including major transformations and fundraisings. Virginie Biton spent 15 years internationally (Ireland, Italy, Congo, Benin, Hong Kong, Mauritius and others) in administrative and financial management, and is fluent in English and Italian. This depth gives UPMYCO a nuanced understanding of African entrepreneurial ecosystems and the standards expected by international investors. The firm uses this dual perspective to support clients in their international development or local establishment, with a keen awareness of economic and cultural realities, and to make projects bankable in heterogeneous environments.

Why does hands-on experience matter when supporting an executive?
Hands-on experience matters because an executive does not need their problems explained, but solved, by someone who has faced the same situations and knows how to resolve them.
Banks change their minds, investors multiply questions, teams resist change: these situations are navigated through experience, not theory. UPMYCO's founders lived them over more than 20 years running companies. That background lets them anticipate obstacles, prioritize, and act with clear steps, then stay present until results are achieved. For the executive, it means an advisor who understands their constraints, speaks their language and rolls up their sleeves, far from detached, slide-driven recommendations.
